As a part of home cleaning, the removal of stains from cups, cutlery or dishes can be a long and fruitless experience.

Sometimes, it ends in failure. However, help is at hand with some tips in removing stubborn stains from your kitchenware to improve your house cleaning.

Getting Tea Stains Out of Cups

Badly stained tea cups can be a nightmare to remove. There is a way of removing the stains. Put a spoonful of washing powder into the empty cup. Fill the cup with hot water and leave it for over half an hour. Wash the cup out thoroughly. After that, the tea stains should be removed.

Another alternative is to use the same method, but with baking soda.

Where the tea cups are china or ceramic, a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda along with warm water can be used.

A person can also use a lemon to remove tea stains. Simply use a half a lemon and squeeze the juice into the tea stained cup. After that, use a wet tea cloth to wipe the stain out. Be advised that it may take some time to remove.

Removing Grease Stains from Stainless Steel Cutlery

An important part of home cleaning is to have clean stainless steel cutlery, free of any disfiguring marks or discolouration. To remove the grease from the stainless steel cutlery, put the cutlery in the sink. Fill the sink with hot water. With care, pour some soap powder into the hot water, before leaving the cutlery to soak for half an hour. Once this has been done, just scrub the cutlery to remove any remaining stains.

An alternative to this is to use baking soda, instead of soap powder. Simply put the baking soda into hot water, place the cutlery in the sink and leave it for ten minutes. After that, rinse it off and wipe the cutlery clean with a tea cloth.

Avoiding Stains on Stainless Steel Cutlery

A way to avoid stains on the stainless steel cutlery is to polish them with white vinegar. It is best to clean the cutlery with a damp cloth.

Removing Streaks on Stainless Steel Cutlery

Another vital part of home cleaning is to have stainless steel cutlery that is free from any streaks. Streaks or watermarks can alter the appearance of stainless steel cutlery for the worse. To avoid streaks, place some olive oil into a tea towel. Using the tea towel, softly rub the cutlery until all the steaks have been removed. In the case where a person isn’t keen on using olive oil, lemon juice can be used instead.

The cutlery may need to be cleaned a couple of times before these stains are removed. It is important not to use any rough cleaning materials as this could damage the stainless steel cutlery.

Removing Stains from Dishes

Stubborn stains on dishes can be particularly tiresome to remove. In order to remove stains from dishes, place the dishes in water and vinegar, before leaving them overnight. In the morning, all of the stains should be gone.

Removing Water Spots from Dishes

It is sometimes difficult to remove water spots from dishes. In order to remove these spots, place the dishes in a sink mixed with water and vinegar for a couple of hours.
After that, just take the dishes out of the sink and use kitchen paper to dry them.

Alternatively, just squirt some lemon juice over the dishes and leave them for five minutes. Once this has been done, simply rinse the dishes in water.
