If you’re new to trying to lose weight – you’ll probably have been bombarded with tons of information. Sometimes, it can be hard to know exactly what to believe. It’s hard when you’ve got too much information to digest, especially when some of it completely opposes something your previously thought was a fact.
Hopefully, you’ve come to the conclusion that you need to try and consume fewer calories, along with burning more of the ones you do consume. This can sometimes seem like a difficult task – but it actually isn’t as hard as you might think. There are a few key tips you can use to help you both consume fewer, as well as burn more calories – and we’re going to look at some of them.
Getting the right number of nutrients and vitamins IS important, but it shouldn’t be focussed on too closely. Generally, if you burn more calories than you consume, you should be doing well.
1. Eat Breakfast
Some people manage to get by without eating breakfast. For those, you might think adding an extra meal is counterproductive when you’re trying to eat LESS, but that isn’t actually the case. In reality, a good breakfast will fill you up and make you eat less for the rest of the day. This means eating a good healthy breakfast could actually help you consume fewer calories overall.
2. Walk More
As you should know, exercise is one of the best ways to burn calories but it isn’t always practical. It’s also hard for some people to get motivated. That’s where walking can make a huge difference. Try walking to work if it isn’t too far. If you can swap a 30 minute daily commute with a two hour walk every day, you’ll be making a huge difference to the amount of calories you burn (and saving money).
3. Eat Fruit
Like eating breakfast, fruit actually fill you up and prevent you from snacking on unhealthy things. Not only that, but some of them contain nutrients that can boost your metabolism and help you burn even more. Not to mention all the other healthy vitamins that are contained in a good portion of fruit.
